Gastrogard-R_® is for the prophylactic treatment of at risk children aged one month to three years to prevent diarrhoea due to rotavirus. Rotavirus is very infectious in young children and outbreaks occur frequently during winter in hospitals, daycare centres, and in the family setting.  Taking Gastrogard-R_®  during periods of risk helps prevent rotavirus cross-infection.

Gastrogard-R_® is a non-sterile, oral powder, consisting of the concentrated proteins, including immunoglobulins, from the colostrum of hyperimmunised cows.  The primary immunoglobulin is IgG₁.  Each sachet of Gastrogard-R_®  contains 5g of hyperimmune bovine colostrum - anti-rotavirus as the active ingredient.
